2nd Lake Apopka Rally to be Held 4/19/12

April 04 2012 ~ The Friends of Lake Apopka, The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation, The Oakland Nature Preserve and the Green Mountain Scenic Byway Committee will be hosting the Second Annual Lake Apopka Rally at 7:00pm at Tanner Hall, 29 West Garden Avenue, Winter Garden. This year’s event entitled, “Lake Apopka, an Economic Growth Center” will include presentations about the historic economic impact of Lake Apopka, the current status of the north shore trail (called the Lake Apopka Loop), events threatening the north shore wildlife preserve, and the future of the lake as an outdoor recreation and eco-tourist destination.
